The 2023 Release Grenache is here!
Grenache is a marginal and rare grape varietyin the Grampians ripening very late in the season. But harvests are trending earlier and it has such a wonderful, floral perfume... The future beckons!
Only the 5th release from these young 8 year old vines at the Arrawatta Vineyard south of Great Western. A cool late ripening year, it has produced a more medium bodied Grenache with excellent tension with lots of red fruits and spice. The natural ferments, large format old oak and zero movements of the wine up to bottling has preserved every ounce of flavour, aroma and complexity possible.

"It's fragrant, it's smoky, it's spicy, and it's moreish. This wine is definite in its desire to sit on the savoury side of the equation, but its pretty, red-berried-fruit characters mean that there's something here for everyone. A touch of reduction works positively here, as do herb-infused tannins, as do inflections of roasted chestnuts." - 93 Points, Silver - Campbell Mattinson (Halliday Wine Companion) August 2024
